## **The Campground**

It is a large campground with ample space. There are no sewer or electrical hook-ups. Potable water is widely available around the camp sites. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. The staff was very friendly and they keep the campground very clean. There are plenty of portable toilets and dumpsters around the grounds.

Camping at Lawson Landing

Our site backed up to a cattle pasture. Every morning we had company for breakfast. It was enjoyable watching the babies run around in the fenced pasture.

Company from next door

There were lots of kites being flown in the constant sea breeze. This campground is an excellent place for families with kids. Even though there were lots of families, it was quiet on our visit. The campground was also very dog friendly.

## **Store and Anchor Garden**

There is a store onsite that carries a good assortment of food and sundries. It also has an assortment of coastal-type Christmas ornaments and gifts. There is a large barbeque area for day users.

The coastal fog goes in and out all day. If you decide to visit, make sure you pack layers and bring a jacket. The days are chilly, and the evenings are very damp and slightly drizzled. On one of the sunny days I was out exploring and I found this cute little anchor garden.

## Fishing

Lawson landing campgrounds are located along the ocean inlet into Tomales Bay. If you are into fishing, you can try your luck ocean fishing from the shore, or if you have a boat, a staff member will launch or help you bring in your boat from the sandy beach.

Fishing from shore

We decided to try our luck at crab fishing. We caught enough crab for a crab boil at dinner. It was a lot of fun. One of our group members brought a snackle box. I thought it was a genius idea. It is a mobile charcuterie/snack case. She used a tackle case and filled it full of snacks.

A Snackle Box - Brilliant

Overall, I enjoyed our trip. However, I would've loved the weather to have been warmer. Unfortunately, I was informed after the fact that the weather doesn't change much throughout the year.
